The shipyards are not yet in place so speculating on how they will work to justify a bad UI setup is rather pointless. In this case a single button on the blue print to buy needed items from the shop (assuming they are in stock) saves a ton of navigation though the shop UI and having to bounce back and forth to the blue print to see if the items are available. Efficient UI design states that you should try to minimize the number of inputs a player needs to do to accomplish a task. Along with increasing click count and need to navigate multiple windows to do something that use to be a single button click. Yeah, but in the meantime they made the systems several times more micromanagement intense. Maybe there will be some kind of shoppinglist meta item to fulfill this purpose but not the blueprint itself. In the future you put the blueprints in a shipyard to let the ship build and you have to deliver the blocks needed to the shipyard. If there was a button on the blue print to buy blocks from the store and it would fill the blue print based on the store stock it would save a ton of time by making things much easy while still maintaining the resource focused economy. But once I get a ship I like and bring it into MP it's a hassle thumbing through the store to purchase all the block types individually. I've changed it over to the buy with credits for my SP world so I can more freely test things. I also want to import ships from the community to test them out. I'm new to the game and using the Infinite stock option so I can buy what I want and experiment. So instead of thumbing through the store and buying the items individually you just open the blue print tell it to buy those items and if the store has it in stock you purchase them and automatically add to the blue print just like killing add from inventory adds all the items you have in your current inventory. There should be a BUY ITEMS FROM STORE option ON the blueprint. However I think the change over was a little to mature.Īlso though my biggest complaint about the whole thing is a UI one. I understand that they want to shift the game's economy to more resource based and that they have plans for the blueprints with the shipyards from what I've been reading.
